I recently bought a 14” band saw labled pioneer. Am trying to upgrade it to multi speed. Can anyone advise me on the step pulley I should put on the motor to get the most usable speeds for resawing? The lower wheel has a 6” pulley on it.

KPW, Looks like a Delta clone . I recommend getting an Iturra Design Catalog. No website, you have to call them 904-642-2802. I guess Luis Iturra doesn’t believe in the internet. This is a 240+page catalog for/about the Delta 14” bandsaw and it’s clones. The catalog explains when and why you would want a higher speed and sells high speed and variable speed pulley sets. You can throw a lot of money into useless (or less than useless) modifications if you’re not careful. Louis Iturra’s catalog explains and compares the products and what to expect from them. -Jack
