Every time I open a page on LJ I see advertising on the right of the page, how many of you look at those ads and anyone of you ever buys from them?

I never even see them. I have developed the ability to focus on one thing to the total exclusion of everything else. It drives my wife crazy when we are in a resturant and there is a screamming infant (or insert any other total distraction) and it doesn’t bother my at all because I just don’t hear it. I just block it out.

I see them all the time but I don’t pay attention to them.
This one is on right now.

I see them all the time and usually ignore them. It is easier here than on TV. Here I can get right to business and read the projects but on TV, I sit down to watch the news while eating breakfast and there are commercials on all the while and I never see much of the news…............Jim

Saddletramp, did you grow up in a family with 4 brothers and sisters also? Learning to concentrate was
necessary to read and or study in a small house, the mute button on TV helps, but I know what you mean
about the news, they even have to cut the news story short to tell you about how they report the news
faster and better than anyone else. It is getting so that the PBS news is the only one I pay a lot of attention
to, but this Saturday morning PBS eliminated all the woodworking shows, so no one is perfect.

I just downloaded AdBlock for safari on my Mac after reading this post. WOW
I just logged back in here and not a single ad around!
They give it away free, but ask for a donation of any kind if you want.
I gave them $15.00

A win-win for everyone.

Want Safari to really speed up and become stable? Also download Clicktoflash. It stops flash from loading unless you want it to. Flash is a memory hog and it raises heck with browsers. It’s one of the reasons it’s on it’s way out. It’s the cause of most browser freezing and seeing the spinning ball. With clicktoflash you won’t have to be without flash. Whenever flash is on a page it will look like a box with the word flash in it. Click the box and it will load flash only for that page and let you see what’s there.

You are the MAN!
I really appreciate the info. I’ll download it.
I love the MacPro, but once in a while the spinning ball drives me nuts.
I do weekly maintenance like disk repair and dumping cookies, so maybe that’s why the Mac works so well.
This adblock is fantastic.
I’ve been away from windows and window P.C.’s for 6 years now and have never looked back.
Thank God Steve Jobs went to Intel. God bless him.
