Topic tags/keywords: saw antique

My Dad passed away this last Summer (after a 4 year fight with Alzheimers… that is one bad ailment: it takes the mind first and the body later). Anyway, Mom wanted me to clean out the garage. So, I loaded up the garage into a trailer and drug it all home. Got to inventory and place a lot of stuff on Craigslist (Lawrence, KS under tools), but I found a few treasures I am not sure the value of. I found this item, an old Skilsaw, purchased by my Dad in 1971. Still in the box. Been used a few times, but overall, pretty clean. I don’t deal in old tools and have no value of its worth.

On a question such as this, it is a good idea to start with knowledge of what a compatible new saw would cost. Then, IMO, a good price is 50% of that, if it is good condition.

A comparable new circular saw would probably cost between $60 to $80. Hence, I suggest an asking price of $30 to $40.
