How thick should an Arkansas oilstone be? Most are between 1/2” and 1”. Is there a risk of the thinner stones breaking? -- More tools, fewer machines. |

The really should be supported on the back by a board or table top. This makes the have additional strength. I have some that are thinner than 1/4”. |
