Hello everyone,
I was just about to post this on ebay and started thinking that LJ’s might want a first crack at it. I’ve got a chipbreaker that fits a number 3 stanley plane (and may fit some other brands too). It sells for $36 after shipping on hocktools.com. I’m looking to sell it for $25 (shipping included). You must be located in the contiguous 48 states, and I will ship it through USPS in a flat rate box. Payment must be through paypal.

This was a garage find and it was in the packaging when I found it, but it was pretty shredded, so you won’t get the original bag. It was dusty so I wiped it off and applied a bit of oil to it. I didn’t do anything else because I’m not really a handplane expert and don’t want to alter the piece. It looks to be in excellent shape, but please take a look at the photos and ask questions. There was some writing on the blade when I got it, but it wouldn’t be visible when installed (again, see photos (7th one)). If you are interested, please send me a PM.

Here are the photos, let me know if you have questions or are interested:

Some of the pics there appears to be cracks in the blade. Are they cracks?

Sorry Mike. I think you are looking at pictures 3 and 6, but there are definitely no cracks. I’ve got a black haired cat and a couple pieces of his fur floated onto the oiled blade. I already wiped it off and I think picture 5 shows the same spot after I noticed the fur, but I can retake a couple photos if you are interested. I’ll make sure it is spotless (and a fresh coat of oil) before shipping too. If you are talking about something else that I’m not noticing, just let me know and I can look into it.
Thanks,
JC
