Recently I turned a mug out of a nice piece of redwood, and finished it with mineral oil. Does anyone know if redwood is toxic?

Here is a reference to the toxicity of redwood:

http://www2.fpl.fs.fed.us/TechSheets/SoftwoodNA/pdf_files/sequoiasempeng.pdf

Basically it says that it may produce an allergic reaction from working with the wood. So it does not sound as if redwood has demonstrated any significant toxicity problems.
