Jerry;

Looks good to me. You could move the internal elbow back some and take full advantage of the outer plywood arc. Also, I can’t tell for sure but the outer edge of the OSB needs to be against the inside of the barrel. You may loose some velocity using a flex pipe but I’d say give it a try first. If the dust and shavings end up in the barrel instead of the vac then you have a separator
Below is mine that sits on top of a 5-gal bucket.

You might take a look at J. Phil Thien's page. Lots of ideas and discussion there.

I gave it a try tonight and it seemed to work really well, Not much dust at all in dc bag, One thing that was strange when i looked inside the drum the dust was in a pile at the bottem of the drum along one side, I did not saw alot of wood so maybe that is why it was not spread out over the whole bottem of the drum, I have it hooked to a HFDC. I made a small dust area in a back room of my pole barn with some cheap tarp and then i piped everthing through the wall, keeps thing out of the way & is alot quieter. The two shop vacs hooked together with the DD work great, I ran a 2’’ pipe along a wall with a long hose on the end for cleaning floor work bench ect, Bad thing is if you suck up a shop rag like i did the other night you have a hell of a time trying to find ware it is pluged,lol . I made a over arm dust collector for my tablesaw its not much to look at but it does work fairly well , BTW that shop vac setup works dam near as well as the HFDC no kidding on that. I will see if i can get more out of that HFDC when i add a wynn filter. hope you injoy the pics. That looks like a real nice separater you got there allen
