Hi. Some of you know that I am a writer that focuses on nature and the environment. Just wanted to share this little video I made this weekend. I took all the photos and wrote the text and I think the whole thing turned out pretty good.

Thanks for letting me share!

Betsy;
Beautiful and how inspiring. I only have 3.3 acres and have bulldozed 3 paths and one cross path through the cedars to create a nature trail that I am building feeding, flower, and play areas for the squirrels and birds for the enjoyment of anyone that would like to come and visit. I only hope that my friends of nature will enjoy my efforts of building these things for them and anyone to enjoy. I forgot the Deer. They seem to come only in the evening but are a very important part of our inviroment. Our granddaughter calls them Princess but dosen’t know that there are a lot of Princess’s in the cedars. Thank YOU for sharing this video with us. It was and is a true JOY to have watched.

Thanks guys. Yes, those are sandhill cranes. They are the cutest little fuzz balls! I saw two hawks eye-balling them and got pretty worried, but last time I check they were still okay.

On another matter, I finally found someone to give me some woodworking classes but haven’t had the time to do it yet. I’m finished some unfinished nightstands and THEN hope to start on my next woodworking project!

Super job, Betsy. Kudos to you and I hope it gets around and especially to developers. They own this state. The Hometown Democracy push has been kicked off the November ballot via procedural fiat so we’ll have to wait for 2010 to make it happen. If we can get it passed it will slow them bums down a bit.

always,
J.C.

Kind of interesting you said that, J.C.
As a writer, I was “interviewing” a developer over the phone yesterday for a design article. He wanted me to come down and see his huge condo project that he built on the river and the thought of it just made me cringe. I don’t think I can do it.
Yes, its hard to pass up a paying job when you are a writer (they aren’t that easy to come by) but I can’t just go ooh and aah at his project, either.

Paying the bills are paramount for living in a free society. That and paying taxes, the increased prices for food, gasoline, ad infinitum. Taking the money doesn’t mean you have to sell your soul. Just try not to make any retching noises during the tour. HA!
