Why aren’t these deals ever in my area? All day every day I see adds for 300 ft tall evergreen/Fir Trees We live on the edge of a huge forrest but except for a few Western Big Leaf Maples there is never any wood for turning.

But Those in NC can get a Trailer Load of Black Walnut!

Chris, there are deals to be had around here but you have to stay glued to CL and be able to JUMP AT A MOMENTS NOTICE. Most of us aren’t able to do that though. A couple of years ago I found 2 lg english walnut trees by UW that the owner just wanted them GONE (already down). I called Mr Edd (LJ in Renton) and he picked them up. He shared some with me for the lead. There are deals around here to be had. Grass is always greaner on the other side. Keep looking buddy. They’er out there. They just don’t have neon signs on them. We have to find them in a different way.

I understand you completely. Lots of Fir and Pine, but I have to travel a couple of hours to see a nice hardwood tree. My brother lives in NC, but will he send me a truck load of Walnut or Cherry!! There is a lot of Walnut in California, but it isn’t very cheap.

-- Robert, so much inspiration here, and now time to work!!!
