Hello everyone. I am about 3/4 done with my 21st century workbench and I would like your comments on something. the lower stretcher uses what I am calling a housed dovetail with a wedge. the upper stretcher has a full dovetail which bolts onto the front of the legs. I really like the look of the housed stretcher and am contemplating using the same for both stretchers. anyone see a reason this would be a bad idea??

I made the top of ash with walnut breadboard end caps. the frame is spalded soft maple I got a good deal on. so far Im pretty happy with it. I dont have a joiner or planer so had to be a little creative. I used my router and a sled and guide to plane the top after glueup. I was quite pleased with the result.

any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

If you havent seen the bench check it out.
