Does anyone have experience with the Utility Grip 4 Jaw Chrome Lathe Chuck from Penn State?
It is on sale and seems to be a good starter set.
I cannot however figure out if it uses the dovetail edge mount or if it is just a stepped edge.
It seems to me that in either case it would be necessary to correctly cut the mounting end.

Thanks.

No experience but I did read some discouraging words about Penn State’s customer service on this site recently.

I have bought a few things from them and not had any problems. The chuck looks fair and seems cheap enough. I have never used that style so I can’t say anything useful about it specifically. Personally, I just bought a 1”x8 tpi tap so I can thread workpieces on the spindle directly.
