Hey guys hope all is well today. I want to be able to make my own wooden screws for the vise on the workbench i am building but dont know what size to make them I was thinking about buying this kit or the other kit have a look and tell me what you think
I am looking at the kit that is 179.00 bucks
Or should I go with this kit

It cost 139.00

What you think? Or perhaps you guys have found a better kit somewhere else and can make a different suggestion.
I was thinking it would be a good investment as I could use the kit to provide screws for anyony that needed them maybe for a small few or maybe you have a kit and could just make them for me for a small few I was thinking if I made them I could do it for around 15 or 20 bucks plus the price of stock since you cant purchase a wodden screw for less than 50 bucks and more often than not higher than that.

Check out this LJ: carterswhittling

He is making a fantastic bench and has some pretty good videos to boot.

Good luck!

I made the two vises on my workbench using 1.5 inch diameter dowels. For a threading kit, check out Woodcraft dot com. While not as elegant as Beal, the cost is only $51.
