I’m slowly outfitting a shop and have come to the jointer. I’ve been seeing the Ridgid one in HD for years and finally decided to go pick one up this weekend only to find they’ve been discontinued for quite some time.. This surprised me because I know I saw one in there just a few months ago and it was not clearance priced. Clearly I need to re-aim and am now looking at the Grizzly G0452, mostly positive reviews and similar price. Are there any others I should be looking at with similar performance at the $500 or so price level? I’m not having much luck finding used in my area. |

If you are aiming at buying a 6in Jointer then BUY USED. There are literally dozens (hundreds?) to be found locally because so many upgrade from 6in to either 8in or larger. Check Craig’s List. If you insist on new, buy at least an 8in, IMO. FWIW, I found my then 2yr old Grizzly G0593 on CL and saved ~$350. -- HorizontalMike -- "Woodpeckers understand..." |

A good used Griz 1182, Jet, Delta, Sunhill, PM54, Ridgid would also fit the bil if you can find one. If you post your general geographic location another LJ member might have some leads for you. -- Happiness is like wetting your pants...everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.... |

Guess I should fill out my profile. I’m in Atlanta – If anybody knows of a decent jointer for sale |

If you have or can get 220 to it, I am with the others to hold out for used. Preferrably 8” or larger, if possible. |

I can’t imagine you wouldn’t be able to find something on Craigslist. Look for old delta six inch jointer. The older the better. You should EASILY find what you are looking for with that budget. I bought a Rigid jointer used about five years ago for $200.00. I have been happy with it, but I would rather have something bigger. If you can’t find it on CL, I don’t think you are looking hard enough… -- When you earnestly believe you can compensate for a lack of skill by doubling your efforts, there is no end to what you CAN'T do |

I have a Craftsman Jointer that is a a clone of the Grizz G0654. Back in the day I got my jointer for $344 out the door. Pics on my website. I’ve seen “my” jointer on CL many times for |

For used I’ve been mainly looking for 8” because I knew I couldn’t afford one brand new. When I find used ones they’re either bench top (I was looking for a decently long bed) or look a little expensive. Am I wrong? Is 300 a good price for a Delta JT160? |

No! The Delta JT160 should sell for $150. The Jet in the first ad Mike posted was the gem of the lot. |
Have your say...
