What are you going to be building with Ironwood Pat? Doesn’t that stuff wreck tool steel?

I have heard a lot of different species of wood referred to as ‘ironwood’. Is there truly an ironwood or is it just a term for any really hard wood? We need to hear from a wood expert!

Guys, thanks for the input and info. Would seem there are a whole bunch of different trees known by the same name.
David, need some thin branches for my model railroading hobby, loads for logcars.
