A woodworker is selling his unisaw for 400. Will go see it this afternoon. He posted a pic, looks good. He advertises it is in great working condition. He original owner. Dont know a ton about it yet, but it is an upgrade over either of our ridgid 4511 or 3650. I plan to list both the 4511 & 3650 for 300.00 firm on CL and see which ts sells first. So I should be able to upgrade to the unisaw and more power for around 100.00. Very excited as I am sure I will buy it. The owner also has a router table mounted into the wing, I am unsure if I will utilize that or not at the time, but I do have about 10 routers ready to belly up if I choose to utilize the router table.

It is official. I bought a 9 year old 3hp unisaw. Runs great, it just humms. Looks to have been manufactured in US.

Owner sold it, was very honest with me, told me he came across a recently widowed lady who had her deceased husbands almost new unisaw. He told me he got a crazy deal on the unisaw but his shop is too small to have 2 ts.

So while he may have gotten a “great!” deal, I got a pretty decent deal. I gave him 400.00. He stated he thinks he paid around 1400.00 for the saw new.

It will replace either the R4511 or the ridgid 3650. Both of those saws will be on CL for 300 firm price. I believe either of those ridgid ts r worth 300.

One question? The unisaw has the Uni fence, owner stated it was a 52” fence but did not fit his shop so he cut the rail down, now it is only a 36” fence. What are my options to increase cut to the right of blade? I suppose I can buy a new 52” fence set, buy uni fence replacement front rail, or maybe I can simply move the front rail as far to the right as I can. Currently the front rail looks to be mounted with at least 15” to the left of blade.

I will pick it up on Friday. I am anxious. Excited! I already have 220 wired because when I set things up I added about 3 extra 220 outlets for upgrade purposes.

On down the road I intend on upgrading the other Ridgid to a second cabinet saw either 3 or 5 hp.

Then maybe in one or two years, as our budget grows I WILL upgrade the cabinet saws to Sawstop or the like with no less then 3 hp.

Just my goals and future plans.

Congrats i knew you would pull the trigger! now just buy the rail there are a ton of parts houses on the net. if you need the size if you don’t,hen don’t sweat it. i have a 32 inch xacta jet ts and i never needed anything larger cabinets are 24 in most cases well wide enough. in fact any larger cuts seems i need 2 people so i use the 100 inch bora wide body clamp and its easier with my cordless skill saw that bora clamp is great I am evaluating them they blow away my old 100m inch clamp

You really fell into a deal on that. Mine is about 12 years old and I paid about $1450 for it. Great buy and congrats. I wouldn’t worry about the rail right away, give it a little time and see if you need the extra length. I have the 52”, and don’t think I’ve used the full capacity more than 3-4 times over the years.

Very excited! Picked up the saw this weekend. Will place it into service tomorrow. It will be a great addition to our shop.

We sold our 4511 for 350.00. So it all worked out great.

Very excited to begin making saw dust with it.

I am disappointed that it is right tilt. I am used to left tilt and left tilt is much safer.
