Looks like a good deal, from the picture, at least. Definetly worth a look and test drive.

400 is a good price for a working unisaw. If that fence and extension table comes with it then its even better. Unisaws are solid machines and the basic design hasn’t changed since they started making them back in the late 30’s (until a couple of years ago that is).

Things to look for, make sure you can support the motor that is in the saw. If it needs 220volt then you need 220 as well. If it is a 3phase machine then you need 3phase etc.

Take off the motor cover and look at the trunions, make sure they have all their teeth and don’t have any cracks. That model is a newer one so I wouldn’t expect any problems, but it is still better to to be safe then sorry. If you decide to buy it consider taking the motor out of the saw when you transport it. To do that you will probably need a set of punches (at least the 1950’s model did. don’t know if they changed the motor mounting design).

Good luck!

It’s got a nice Unifence. Looks like a steal at $400….even if it needs a motor, it could still be a good deal.

Thanks for the comment Jacob. I get on here a ton and believe it or not I never even seen this blog. It is a decent saw. I feel a little bad now knowing you wanted it. Truthfully I have been looking for a unisaw or pm 66 since 2009 but with my smaller budget it would have to come from CL.

And I seen them from time to time but I have just missed out. I geuss this time I was just fast enough.

Jacob, if your in my area and we both are woodworkers, we should get to know each otger better in the future. My shop is out in the country south of San Antonio. I build mostly kitchens, wall units and some desks and bedroom furnishings. My phone number us 210-274-8185 and our web site is www.topqualitycabinets.net

Unless the blade is already tilted in the pic, it’s a left tilt…check the front handwheel location.

Motor cover on the right side, it is a right tilt. Mine is the same saw.

Looks like a right tilt to me. Our company Unisaw is 25 yrs old and the trunnion’s are worn out. So make sure you check into it. Is it worth it to buy replacement parts or a new saw? The cost of parts and labor would be tremendous.

In my mind the only way trunnions could be worn out is if they are cracked or if the teeth are broken off. Either way there is no reason to pay someone to replace them. I is actually a pretty simple matter to replace them yourself. You only need a few wrenches to get the job done.

I pic the saw up tomorrow. So not sure if it is left or right tilt. I can say this, I will truley be bummed if it is right tilt. My current saws are left tilt and I think left tilt is much safer and better.
