imagine my surprise
when i went to the PO and found this present
from martyn (britboxmaker)

http://lumberjocks.com/BritBoxmaker/blog/17048

all i can say is

THANK YOU MARTYN !

I AM HONORED

i had sent him a PM
when this first came out
to get permission to build one
as a gift for a friend

as we do here on LJ’s
he gave it willingly
(permission)

i did make two of them
but being new to the process
i had trouble clamping them correctly
and still need to upgrade
to his caliber of work
(the clamps need a wood jig to keep them from warping
and going out of square)

live and learn

on the bottom he wrote this

i will spend this winter
up-grading my tools and jigs

making many that he and others have shared with us
so i can do better work
better than hit and miss
as i have done in the past

again

THANK YOU MARTIN !

sending sunshine your way

You are a lucky boy to have such good friends, good for you.

I’m sure you’ll treasure it always.

Nothing like a signed original from the Master. Nice all the way around.

Hats off to you Martyn

What an honor, David.
A great gesture, Martyn.
Stories like this reinforce my beliefs about the goodness of my fellow woodworkers and LJs in particular.
Thanks to both of you.

How cool is this, David! We have such a wonderful group of people here. You are always going out of your way to help others and it is wonderful to see that others are also so thoughtful and reward you for your own kindness. Both of you gentlemen are awesome! It is a great story to see!

This is just another example of the good will and comradship that exists on LJ. And you helped set the bar high David! Blame it on the wood…?!
