The following is an update of a disease that is fatal to Black Walnut trees. Depending on the spread of the disease, Black Walnut may be somewhat scarcer and more spendy.

whats going on with tree´s now adays
first it was the elm disease and now we have ash disease here in europe
and one more I think as well withblack valnut over there in US.
wood is going to be rare :-(

Start planting as well as cutting and don’t trust the sawyers to do it for you. I’ve got a couple of European chestnuts going in the ground tomorrow and already planted a cherry, maybe I’ll look into a couple black walnuts next year.

Derosa … you have a point
we have a law here in Denmark that says if they cut down a tree in the forrests they have to plant a new
maybee we shuold have it for the gardens also …. :-) and make the law so they have to plant one of the more
rare spicies too ….. so cut one plant two .-)
