There is nothing better then having your grandkids in the workshop with you sharing the fun. Mine are just now old enough to enter the shop. It’ll be great when they are the age of your granddaughter. You must be very proud. Teach ‘em well.

Its great that she is interested in working in your shop. Both of you will be able to create lots of memories.

You are right…I am proud, lucky and thrilled.
A couple of years ago we started like most do. Lizzy wanted to help Grandpa in the shop. So I gave her a hammer and nails and said “go for it”. After about five minutes Lizzy wants to build a sculpture. I cut a few odd shapes and she glued them together. An artist is born. Fast forward a year or so and half dozen progressively larger sculptures, I’m thinking it’s time for her to learn to use the band saw. A few more sculptures and a box full of scrap pieces turned masterpieces and she is ready for the next step. Build a project. I went looking for a project the would developed her band saw skills and encourage Lizzy’s inter artist. Intarsia seem it fit the bill. Starting off with something simple and progressing as her skills advance.
I’ll post pictures when it’s finished.
