Thanks and kudos for the new posting rules.

Some of the guys and gals here might not know of a run-in we had here awhile back when one of the members went about bashing just about everything and everybody. Martin eventually “whacked” the forum post as it had generated countless replies of general disgust for this individual, it was getting worse as the days went by and the end to it was nowhere in sight. The thing to do was to report him to Martin as the new posting rules state.

I would like some clarification on this rule though: You are responsible for following the copyright rules. Don’t post photos/content by others without consent/credit given.

There have been many questions regarding processes that were quickly answered with a photo link to the makers project. IE: This link http://lumberjocks.com/topics/3060#reply-32507 where a couple of us referred the writer to anothers project for quick answers. I really don’t see any problem with that…but then again, I don’t wanna get “whacked”! LOL!

Yes.. I added the posting rules yesterday ;)

Project widgets used in the thread you linked are okay because they:

  1. link back to the original post
  2. contain author name (credit)

This rule is mostly related to posting content/photos from other sites across the Web.

Martin,

I finally noticed a new addition for once. (It is kind of hard to miss this one).

“This rule is mostly related to posting content/photos from other sites across the Web.”
But its ok to post a link to another site rather than cut and paist quoted text – right. EX: Any one looking for WORMY CHESTNUT 4/4 (APPROX. 1000 B/F) http://www.irsauctions.com/popups/bidders_paddle.asp?lot=88894&auction=J9PF98LJORSO99P0JZ3EWKO3PPQKLE&id=11087
