Topic tags/keywords: table limbert

I came across this table on Google sketchup and have some interest in building it. In searching the internet I could not find any plans.

I was wondering if anyone here has ever done the design.

Link to Google sketch of Charles Limbert table

I’m most interested in the depth from the edge of the table to the legs and also the construction process of the leg sections. I assume those are all vertical boards with the horizontal ones glued in. I’m also thinking one inch top.

If anyone has had experience with this model I would appreciate your input.

Thanks,

BrianM

Hey, Brian. I see you starting to move towards the light, Arts & Crafts furniture. I have a book with Limbert design, but there are no dimensions. The leg construction is a glue up, inserting the short pieces where needed. You download that picture to sketchup and it will give you all of the dimensions, use the dimension tool. It shows that the leg to table edge is 8 3/4”.

Hi Brian,

I just took a look at the model. The author left a lot of the joinery out but the dimensions are there. Use the tape measure tool to get them. for instance, the distance from the edge of the top to the center of one of the sides is 6”. The top is 1 1/4” thick. The top is 48” from edge to edge.

Open it and start using the tape measure tol to get the dimensions.

Here is a good start. It doesn’t all fit so click it to see the bigger image.

You got that right. I don’t understand everything I know about Sketchup. I just apply some of the things I know about AutoCad to it, to figure things out, like dimensions. I’ve wasted hours working with it and don’t have a drawing to show for it. I guess some day I’ll have to get serious and sit down and learn the procedures, no matter how long it takes. I need another one of those part time jobs, where I just sit around and watch the clock, like I had when I learned HTML. Kind of like sitting around the Gallery in the off season.
