Topic tags/keywords: buddy icon

I recently went to change my buddy icon to my business logo, and no matter what size I make it, it appears too large and blurry. The file is a standard .jpg.

I can’t seem to find the size or other requirements for buddy icons, but I’m sure that the file type and size should be ok as is, so perhaps there is something else going on here.

Any thoughts on why I may be having this issue?

Thanks for your input.

I think it may be that your image is not square. Try to edit it down to a 100×100 pixel image.

the icon on this page is 50×50px, but on the homepage of each LJ it is 146×146 px, that is the size you should scale down to. it must be square, if not you must make it square by adding space where needed, otherwise it will be deformed.
check the properties of the image you uploaded which is still on your pc and see the px size. in some image editing software when you scale down an image, you also need to scale down the canvas, or resize to fit the image. otherise your image may look smaller, but the canvas or frame it fits in is still the old size.

if you still have problems you can send it to me and i can rescale it for you, it’s no big deal.

Have your say...
