I may have chance to get some reclaimed lumber from an OLD barn. Probably 75 – 100 years old. It is some type of pine I think, but hard. The lumber is in pieces apprx. 1.25” thick X 12” wide and 20’ long. My question is would it be worth a 5 hour trip each way and probably 2 – 3 hour cutting it in half to fit in my small trailer? I thought of making some “barn wood” shelves and a coffee table from it, but there is probably 200-300 bf.

Any ideas of what it would be worth?

Of course you can decide for yourself if it is worth your time and efforts, but for me, I think it would if I had a trailer and had the opportunity. From what I have seen of “Old Barns” of 75-100 I would think the wood might be Oak. I may be wrong about that, but I would think it might be. It could be a suprise. If you dont need it all, please stop by my place and drop some off, I will use whatever I can get for free. Just kidding. I hope it is worht your while.
