Topic tags/keywords: miter saw

I just recently picked up the new makita LS1216LX. There are a lot of things I really like about the saw and a few I don’t. I noticed that when the blade is slowing down it really starts to wobble. I talked with a makita rep and he said that it is because of the brake. Shoot straight with me people…is that bologna or is that legit? It would make sense that things would move a little trying to slow down a big 12” blade but I just wanted a second or third opinion. There hasn’t been a cut quality issue, just a concern.

I am not totally satisfied with the accuracy of the laser either. It wanders from the top of the cut to when the blade contacts the material. The rep said it was not uncommon. Anyone else had trouble with this?

Sounds a little weird to me. I have the LS1013 and it doesn’t wobble when the brake engages.

I have the ls1016l and it also stops smoothly, starts smooth too. I really like it.
