Not sure if i am posting in the right place or not, but here goes. I was wondering how many of you older Lumberjocks might remember or know of a man named FRANKLIN H. GOTTSHALL. He was a renowned furniture designer & builder, Author, Craftsman, and Teacher. He wrote over 30 woodworking books. Most of the books were popular in the 40’s and 50’s. A lot of his books were used in high school shop teaching classes. One of his projects in particular, that a lot of you might remember was a lamp that looked like an old fashioned well pump. Where is all of this going? To make a longerstory short, he must have passed away recently. There is an upcoming auction, of his estate. There is a lot of old hand tools and old power tools, plus what appears to be a lot of wood and lumber that is going to be auctioned off on October 1/ 2011. This auction won’t benifit a lot of you lLumberjocks, but anyone living in eastern Pennsylvania might find it to their liking and benifit. The Auction will be in Boyertown Pa. As close that I can come on the map, is that it is located between Harrisburgh, and Philadelphia.
Here is a link to the auction. ” http://www.auctionzip.com/Listings/1229309.html ” When the page comes up, click on the link titled Auctioneers Web Site. Another page will come up saying JR Auctioneering, at the bottom of that page, click on the link Auction schedule. In there will be the Estate of Franklin H Gottshall, click on that and it will provide you with pictures of everything in the auction. Wish that I could go, sure looks like a lot of nice cherry lumber in there.
