Topic tags/keywords: grizzly g1066 drum sander conveyor belt question

Hey guys so I got an older grizzly g1066 24” drum sander this past week. Its not in bad shape but needs a good cleaning and re-aligning. There are a couple things I that are probably going to have to be replaced eventually…the conveyor belt being the main one, it is an older model and I know the new models come with a rubber one. The clips that hold the sandpaper on (which from what I’ve already read on here I think I may mod it in one of the ways described by others) also need replacing. Oh and the v-belts are pretty worn. Anyway for anyone who has one or looked into it you grizzly charges a pretty penny for a replacement conveyor belt. So seeing if anyone has any ideas of another choice, maybe an aftermarfet or something? Thanks for any help!

None of the generic conveyer belts are cheap and I had a LOT of trouble getting mine to track properly until I replaced the drive belt with the better quality one. Spend the few extra dollars as they last a LONG time and the tracking frustration isn’t worth the few bucks saved.
