That is an incredible video. Thanks for posting this. It made my Sunday. I just hope Marvin stays on good terms with this bear and doesn’t become a bear turd some day. I’m not sure I could ‘stay hooked’ if a bear got this close!

A friend in BC sent it to me. I thought it was a great vid, and a white bear to boot!!

I saw one that walked up to within about 15 feet of me before he decided something was there. The wind was from him to me. He just stood there looking and sniffing. i was leaning against a tree. I finally decided I wasn’t going to stay there all day ;-)) When I moved he shot out through the forest like a rocket. I couldn’t believe how fast he went through brush I couldn’t hardly get through!

I have seen several in the western WA woods and a couple cougars, but one was just the tail ;-))

Thank you!! Cool video!!!
Ran into a bear one deer season, we were about 50 feet apart! He(she?) looked at me, I looked at him(she?), we both kinda just started walking the same direction toward the swamps, while glancing at eachother! Since it was so close to the farm, I’m guessing it had seen and smelled me a million times and didn’t really think of me a threat?

lwllms Thanks for that link. That s a ride to remember! Great story ;-)) I used to think I wanted to hunt Griz with a flintlock until i saw how much flintlock it took to take a 350 # black bear:-)) The Griz can stay where they are!

I have talked to several brown/black bears when mountain biking and they suddenly appeared in the trail,
looked me over and left. The closest I have have been to a grizzly bear was 250 yards and that was too
damn close. I have bear spray, never have used it and hope I never have to, if I ever take pictures of a
bear that size, it will have to be with a big telephoto lens. Thank you for sharing the video, I read the
story about that young lady and her 18 hand tall horse and the grizzly and can understand why she had to
buy the horse.

You are all welcome.

Anyone who has done much with or around animals knows that horse is a one in a million animal.

We had a dog that alerted me to kids playing half a block up the street when I backed out of the driveway. Truly amazing!!
