As the title says. I would really like to look at a Ridgid R4512 saw, up close and personal. I’m looking at buying one for my Father in-law who lives in Long Island. But before I buy it and set it up it would be nice to take an up close and personal look at one. I find it a poor method of selling that Home Depot does not keep a display model in the stores anymore. Or the jointer or band saw etc.
I looked at the Porter Cable saw at Lowes. To many things I felt were not an improvement over the saw he has. I bought him a Sears motorized floor table saw in 1990 and it’s just getting old.
I’m primarily looking at the quality of the fence. As well as an overall improvement from his current table saw. Everything I have read about the Ridgid saw has been positive of course for those few returnable ones. But then I have seen Powermatic and Delta’s returned.

I have been looking at Craig’s list but being down here and not up there makes it a tough option. Though someone did have a Delta contractor II saw with a Unifence a month ago. That would have been nice. I’ll keep looking maybe something will come up.

I have read the reviews and think the Ridgid saw would be fine for him. A Sawstop would be better but I’m not going there. Any comments on the Ridgid will be appreciated, positive and negative.

In KC, we have a Cummins Tools. They are a factory Ridgid reconditioned dealer. When I bought my 3650 yrs ago, they had them on the floor assembled to look at. If there are any ridgid factory recon dealers in your area, that may be a possibility. Maybe ridgids web site would list the locations. Probably a long shot, but they sell them at pretty deep discounts.

Have your say...
