I’ve had the Makita horizontal water stone sharpener for years. Use it for all the sharpening chores in the shop. This puppy has been a workhorse, and did not cost a fortune.
What’s the advantage of the Tormek and the other super expensive systems available today?

Speed! Time is Money. We bought the Worksharp 3000 a couple of weeks ago and now have very well sharpened chisels without spend hours. Getting ready to work on some plane irons next.
