Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh…. Sittin’ on the front porch as the sun goes down with a beer and another handplane I just found at an antique shop today. Could life get any better? It’s not a fancy plane, just a late 1800’s Stanley #20 transitional. But that doesn’t matter. Fact is I just finished some yard work, the smell of a freshly trimmed lawn is in in the air and the neighborhood’s full of the sounds of kids playing and the occasional Harley heading out to the country roads for a susnset ride. I’ve got a plenty of beer and misquito spray and nothing to do but browse Lumber Jocks. It’s such a pleasant evening that I thought I’d post a thread about it. I don’t even care if anyone comments….

Gotta go, the sunset is reflecting off the fruit trees just the way I like it…

This fits in perfectly with the recent thread on spoilers in the title. When I read this title, I was ready to see a gory and bloody photo of a hand sliced as a result of operating a hand plane under the influence.

Good job keeping the suspense. What a pleasant surprise.

Enjoy the rest of the evening!

Stumpy,
I’m sitting with a Gordon’s GIN on the deck smelling the neighbor’s shed that just burned to the ground.
I just finished a crazy project I’m thinking of posting.
Sun’s going down, so it’s time for a refill

Chuck- I think “spoilers” refered to spoiling a surprise, but maybe I read that thread wrong…

JimC- Better to sit and smell the neighbor’s shed than sit and smell the neighbor. Mine is about the size of a shed and not to big on showers… his wife’s about 70 years old and sunbathes in the front yard wearing a couple strips of fabric every day…

Stumpy,

Maybe it’s just me, but
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh…. Sittin’ on the front porch as the sun goes down …
sure seems like it could go either way.

Perhaps I missed the subtle difference between “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh” and “AHHHHHHHHHHHHH”

Jim- No, I don’t have a fence. But I do have a lot of windows overlooking their yard. Of course, she DOES have a great figure for her age…

Chuck- I would think the thread should have read “sittin’ in a puddle of blood with a pile of fingers in my lap” if it was the kind of thread you were looking for…

I’ve got a beer, seen the sunshine, don’t care much about fruit trees, but a few pics of that transitional would be nice.

sounds like a slice of heaven. I think I’ll go get myself a beer and toast you, handplanes, LJ’s and of course, my own awesome self.

Just got home myself after being at a party where I saw a dear friend of mine for the first time in 12 years. Ending it off while watching the replays of a Texas Rangers victory (magic number is 7) and enjoying a New Belgium Ranger IPA. Good night!!!

I can finally join you on the front porch, we had too many forest fires close and the wind blowing the wrong
way, so the valley filled up with smoke and my asthma kicked in. It cooled down to decent fall weather and
we got a sprinkle that cleared the air, so I can see the mountains again. The ducks are waddling up from
the creek onto the neighbors lawn looking for a handout, and the geese seem to have flown south. My
Stanley Handyman 14” plane that I got for $10 is too warped for anything useful, so I guess I will just hoist
a brew with you and enjoy life. Thank you for the company.

Another day, another beer (or more), another sunset. This time in the backyard by a fire made from my old maple workbench top, with my wife and dogs by my side, a pile of hot dogs in my belly and a smore on my stick. Does it get any better?

Stumpy, there’s no doubt about it, what you describe is a nice way to pass the time.
