What band saw fence?

There are two styles to resaw fences. One is a pole or bend of metal the attaches onto the regular bandsaw fence, and the other is just a bigger tall fence. Folks that do a lot of resawing tend to like the latter design.

Of course price will play the biggest role. Theres a lot of good things to be said about something like the Driftmaster Fence, but that one is about 400 dollars. On the other hand the Kreg fence gets pretty consistently great reviews and its almost 1/4 of the cost.

Take a look at the magfence. I purchased one several months ago and love it. It’s easy to adjust for drift and pops off in a snap. No bolts, no fuss.

I have the Kreg one after messing up my Grizzly stock one. The Kreg one that has 4 bolts up front that are easy to adjust…http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=11304&filter=kreg. It has a high T-track fence. I really like it. Also, there is a great design plan for one in an older Fine Woodworking I believe that is very adjustable, although I can’t remember the issue off the top of my head. If I find it I’ll let you know.

I made one with a double feather board that cuts very straight.

This is the first cut freehand before I made the featherboard.

Try a homemade one before you spend a lot of money.

I found a free plan similar to the FWW one I was looking for….
