I would like to know how to make the support mechanism for a table extension that pulls out and raises to the table top level, then is pushed back in to lock in place. these were used on ranch oak rectangular tables in the 50’s.

I think you’re looking for Butterfly Leaf Hardware, a google search will bring up some videos and locations to buy the hardware. Videos show it at the end of tables (Breadboard???) or in the center of the table.
