Topic tags/keywords: bandsaw lathe scroll saw sander shaper 1950s old iron cast iron american made tool gloat

Was browsing CR Friday and found 5 – 1950s ish bench power tools. Fantastic deal, of course I mentioned it to my wife not saying that I wanted them and out of the blue she says go for it. So, short of the story is they were still available and I went to check them out. Now let’s see if I can do a pic post and caption them properly.

#1 Scroll saw – Wizard/Western Auto Supply Co. Uses 61/2” pin end coping saw blades, ALL CAST IRON
#2 Table Top Shaper – Duro Power Tools. With some cutters, ALL CAST IRON. Here’s the orignal pre-router table! And I bet that table top is dead nuts flat!

#3 9” Bandsaw – Toolcraft Corp./ Dairra James. Tires look good, Cast Iron frame and table W/ Cast Aluminum door. Hmmm didn’t check the wheels.
#4 Belt sander – Wizard/Western Auto Supply Co. ALL CAST IRON
#5 Craftsman 12”x36” Lathe – Newer model has Plastic belt guard. Same 4 tools that came with it, 2 tool rests, drive and dead centers and small face plate

Lathe and shaper have good ½ hp motors all other tools have 1/3 hp washing machine motors. I love it all this AMERICAN MADE CAST IRON!

I would like the shaper and the belt sander.
Those old tools will still run a long time.
Did you buy them all ?
