The G1023 is a better saw verses the G0833P. What is your power supply, 110v or 240v. The G1023 is 3hp 240v single phase, the G0833 is 2hp and interchangeable for 115v/230v single phase. just a simple matter of rewiring the switch, which is a easy task. A matter of personal preference. I do like the Grizzly Brand.

You can't go wrong with either Grizzly saw, but you know what they say - go big. If you have the money I would surely go with the 1023rl. Hope you already have 230V power already or that could be an expense to add in. I would say the Jet is a step back from either Grizzly.

Have you looked at used? Craigslist often has a wealth of used tablesaws, and though there is no warranty, you generally don't need one, it's a tablesaw, not a car. And you can find some fantastic values, I have purchased so many of my larger tools from craigslist that I'm a huge proponent.

Jack, you need to be aware that not all geographical areas have a lot of cabinet saws or other worthy woodworking equipment for sale on Craigslist. There are 2 cabinet saws within a hundred mile radius of my house right now and they are both grossly overpriced. Why would I want to drive 100 miles to look at a saw of unknown condition, haggle with some stranger, and struggle with getting it back home when Grizzly is happy to deliver one to my shop that is brand new and has a warranty for almost the same price?

And art should be aware that alder is the god of woods and I picked up a basically clean and complete unisaw w an extra bies fence and a Vfd for 550$ In an overpriced cabinet saw depleted area. If you don't want to wait awhile and you want a warranty then New is the way to go.

Be creative. For whatever you will spend on a single new saw I have less than $700 in this set-up. Twin Delta Contractors saws, bolted together, placed on a base cabinet with dust collection and tool storage. One fence, works both saws. Left saw is single blade and general use, right is dado set for 1/4" dado joints.

If you have 220v, the G1023RL is a no brainer to me. It's a significant step up in class of saw that you shouldn't outgrow. The G1023RL is an industrial cabinet saw that should handle everything you throw at it with ease.

And The Fridge should know that he is a role model for all of us. #AlderRules #Unisaw #TimeMagPersonOfTheYear

I searched for a cabinet saw pretty much continuously for over 5 years on Craigslist and other local sources with no luck. Prices for a Powermatic or Unisaw in good shape are typically over $1000. I would have bought a new saw sooner but I was pretty happy with my contractor saw. I finally found a hybrid Grizzly and bought it within 1 hour of it being posted. The guy already had someone else lined up to look at it if I didn't buy it when I got there. It wasn't exactly what I wanted but it was a pretty good upgrade at a pretty good deal. If I had waited 4 hours, it would almost certainly have been gone. That is typical. When I say this area has cabinet saws that come up for sale at the rate of maybe 3 or 4 per year I am not exaggerating. Ones that are single phase power are even more rare.

Consider yourself lucky in that respect.

I have a great source for Cherry and QSWO so why would I want to mess around with second tier species?

Yeah, you can score a nice one. They show up from time to time.

I would recommend buying the Griz 1023 if you can satisfy the power requirements and it is in your budget. You will not have to work around a problem with a used saw that was the reason the owner is selling it. Not all of us enjoy buying a used tool and refurbishing it as necessary. With the 1023, you can unpack it, clean it up, assemble it and start making stuff right away! I bought my 1023 in 2009 and have not regretted the purchase. It is an excellent table saw that I will never have to upgrade from. I have other Griz tools as well, and when needed, the Grizzly customer service department is a very helpful , professional and timely resource. Work Safely, Good Luck, and Have Fun!
