Wood identification?

I acquired a block of wood recently that I can’t identify. I know that just looking at pictures isn’t ideal, but can anyone give me some guesses?

-- More tools, fewer machines.

I would guess it’s mahogany . Here’s where I look for wood ID

I’m with Jim. Mahogany was my thought before I even saw his response.

A third vote for mahogany and, like Charlie, that was my thought before I saw the other responses.
