It’ that time of year again when woodworkers gather for the annual Wood Expo in Charlotte, Michigan
http://www.theworkbench.com/
September 9th and 10th under the big white tents.
Again this year the Mid-Michigan Woodworkers Guild will have a table set up so stop buy and say Hi…I am a LumberJock.

As one who was born and raised in Michigan I would love to use this as an excuse for a trip back to my home state, but I fear scheduling conflicts will prevent that.

FYI – while I was raised in the thumb, I went to college at Grand Valley (Grand Rapids area) and lived for 6 years in Battle Creek, about 25 miles from Charlotte.

-- Rich, Cedar Rapids, IA - I'm a woodworker. I don't create beauty, I reveal it.

Keith -

Thanks for posting this. Hopefully I’ll be able to take some time and stop in. I looked at the Johnson web site – looks like there are a lot of great seminars and things to buy. Looks like fun.

-- I've never seen a tree that I wouldn't like to repurpose into a project. I love the smell of wood in the morning - it smells like victory.

Hello Billy,
I hope you can make it. It would good to see you again.

Hello Rich,
I have a son that lives in Battle Creek and another that lives in Grand Rapids so I know those areas well. No trip to Grand Rapids would be complete without a stop at the West Michigan Woodcraft.
I grew up in Flint and we would camp in the state park by Caseville and perch fish in BayPort. Good Times.

Hello Ken,
I hate to see someone just window shop. As a fellow LumberJock I feel it is my duty to offer to store anything that you may purchase. That can’t be carries on your bike. I have a little room in my shop that I would be willing to offer you, until you could pick it up in a few months or years down the road. Just trying to help.
Hope you can make it.
