Topic tags/keywords: question mahogany finishing filling

I’m making a TV stand and I plan on filling the mohogany.

Is there any reason I should fill both sides of the top or the inside parts that aren’t visible?

I figure filling is only for show and not for stability but I wanted to make sure this was right.

Hi Angela
just filling one side is fine but I would put finish on both sides to equalize moisture absorption rates.

I’ll finish the whole thing but I’ve never filled Mahogany before and it doesn’t sound fun so I wasn’t sure if I had to do it all.

Thanks again
