I’ve got my Inca jointer/planer up and running, but still missing the cast aluminum piece that holds the guard.
Looking at it, I don’t think it would be real difficult to build a wood pork chop guard similar to what Mathias Wandell put on his home build jointer.
My question is for those that have used both styles of guards, which do you prefer?
I like the pork chop style, but, on a 10” wide jointer could be awkward.
Any thoughts and ideas are always appreciated.
Thanks.

I have the Euro on my Jet JJP12, but prefer the pork chop. I know others disagree.

Hands down the Euro style My jointer is 16 wide. When I first got it I didn’t like it. Once I got used to it I’m not going back.

Something as simple as this will take care of your face jointing.

I’m one of those that disagree.i had a 6 inch with pork chop and after getting a jet 12 inch found the euro guard to be so much better to use. Your hand never really gets near the cutter. In fact you’re u don’t even see it.
