Topic tags/keywords: bandsaw

I have finally pulled the trigger and bought a band saw.I bought Grizzly’s GO513X 17” 2HP. Photos and Review to fallow after I get my feet wet. I know its a lot of saw but I would like the ability to re- saw lumber as well the bigger machine has more mass.I don’t mean for this post to be a tool gloat OK well maybe a little bit.I have operated plenty of band saws in the past but never had to match blades with materials, speed, thickness etc…Does anyone know of a PDF or download witch would call out the right blade for a given materiel i.e. oak and speed and so forth?Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I get most of my blades from Suffolk Machinery. Here is their chart:

It will give you a general idea of what TPI you need for a certain material/thickness.
