ok all im get a boat loas of money back on taxes and have decided its time to get a few machines my shop has sorely need for years a jointer and a plainer im looking at steel city not sure what to think of them. not sure if steel city is chinese for cheep crap but i digres im looking at this jointer http://www.steelcitytoolworks.com/products_tools.cfm?section=2&category=7&tool=40605

and i cant seem to find the planer on line mabey they no longer make the one im thinking about buying

Steel city is a good company. Guys who used to design for delta own it. They make A+ equipment.

Woodworker Supply and Tool King sells Steel City jointers and planers. I hear more good about Steel City all the time.

Almost everything is made in China these days and it’s just a matter of who’s keeping an eye on them
while they build it. Steel Sity Does a good job.

thanks guys that settles it then im going to get them both when i get home im dissapointed that the planer isnt listed any where on line mabey my tool guy just has a bunch of disscontiued ones or something but it is a 2 hp 230 volt 15” planer for 700 bucks on a moble stand and everthing

well i figured out why i couldnt find that planer online any where its cuz the tool i looked at at tried a tru tools wernt steel city they were shop fox doh i hommered it time for a new thread

I must stay on this Steel City page. I have their 12” jointer and 20” planer and they are fantastic! Five year warranty is nice too.
