Topic tags/keywords: finish resource question tip maple finishing

I recently attempted to finish 2 small pendants by using the 3 step buffing method. I accidentally applied caruba wax to the wheel I used for the tripoli and I didn’t realize it to the end. On top of that a bunch of the fibers from the buffing wheel came off and mixed with the wax finish…. :(

Should I attempt to sand off the current finish and then re-apply the 3 step buffing or is it possible to repair the finish by simply starting the buffing procedure over with new wheels?

On a side note the is a wax/buffing finish appropriate for a piece that will be worn and handled A LOT?

I would give it a light sand with fine grid, and then all over.
