This story is about Gibson Guitar but it outlines what the Federal Government was looking for and why Gibson had no idea of what law it had violated. No telling who will be next and you pretty much have no way of knowing what it is you have done if you are using foreign woods. This episode cost Gibson $3 million and its wood has been confiscated.

Sounds like a tough situation for gibson. Also seems like a poor use of resources for the gov’t. Nobody seems to win in this situation. I find it hard to accept that was the highest/best use of the feds time. Like a quote in the article, you have to wonder if gibsons campaign dollars were spent in the right place.
