I need to get knives for my 16” double sided planer and my 12” jointer. Suggestions? I can get planer knives from Woodtek (it’s a woodtek machine) for $60 a set (of 3). The machine uses 2 sets. That may be about as good as it gets but I figured I’d ask where you all like to get them.
I also saw that grizzly has some dispoz-a-blade setups on clearance, they’re the posi-set not the easy set (I assume the posi is older /less desirable). Any thoughts on those?

Thanks!
Grant

In my jointer I use M2 and t1 high speed steel. Carbide in the planer
I wouldn’t even consider anything from grizzly esp on sale.
Maybe you don’t have a choice with that woodtek machine.
I think it’s good to know what grade of hss.

AJ the ones that I’m considering from grizzly are dispoz-a-blade not Grizzly branded, quality knives but it’s the older, potentially more fussy posi-set system not the newer easy-set.
Perhaps I should clarify I’m looking for a good source, thanks for your recommendations on steel type but from where?

Have your say...
