After noticing a few posts mentioning this company, I decided to have a look. It appears they have a good selection of material, but their prices seem high. I’ll be honest, I haven’t been to the hardwood supplier in about 18 months (since my son was born), but from what I remember, prices weren’t that high. So, are their prices high, or am I just behind the currect pricing curve a little.

They’re a bit high, but my last order was damned nice, and considering how little in exotics is available locally for me, (and considering I live in a high cost of living area), I felt it was decent-ish enough.

Really, I like the money back guarantee. I have seen what I ordered elsewhere at a third of the price, but no pics, and I have no clue what the hell I’m getting at that price… So I’m a little sketchy about risking it on some other online sources. Maybe when I need less woods.

I have used this company twice with mixed results. The first time I ordered a piece of 1/4 saw white oak witch turned out to be a good experience. The second time was a little different.I ordered 25 board feet of ash and it came all grayish and twisted and cupped.I called Woodworkers source and lodged my complaint, they were vary nice on the phone and said they would replace the boards that were no good.So I am 1 for 2 or 3 out of 5 stars. In the projects page you can view the ash. I built a bath cabinet for a gift, take a look. This company has just about every type of hardwood you could wan’t but the prices are high on top of the shipping cost. For Me living in Florida I have no good real source to buy hardwood so I bite the bullet.

I have purchased from them once when I was just getting back into woodworking. The selection is amazing, the quality was fine, the price with shipping (and without) was high. They are not outrageous, but they are high. If I needed a quanity of special wood (read exotic) for a special project, I wouldn’t hesitate to give them a try. There are a lot of sellers out there and most try to give good service as bad news travels fast. Look on to find suppliers closer to you and compare.
