So I am starting my first big cabinet job this week. It is an outside unit for a patio. I am using treated 2×4 for the skeleton and gonna skin it out with 1×6 cedar. My question is what plywood should I use for my top underlayment? It is going to be a tile top. I was thinking of either 3×4 AC pine or a 3×4 birch and sealing it really good to protect from the elements. Your thoughts?

MDO would be a good choice

You can’t seal AC pine or birch THAT ood. Gary has the rigt idea. MDO is made for things like this. Besides being water-proof, it’s dead flat.
