Topic tags/keywords: digifence wixey

i like to use jigs on a t-square type of fence on a table saw, but i’m also trying to achieve repeatability like with an incra fence

i’ve read lots about the wixey 700, videos, etc, some issues with lost calibration and such, but still lots of good things too, and then the other day i came across something called digifence from proscale:

http://www.proscale.com/products/digi/DigiFence.htm

here’s one review i found:

http://www.newwoodworker.com/reviews/digifencervu.html

here are two videos:

has anyone tried this? does it provide excellent reliability and repeatability?

thanks

I have had a Wixey for a long time and never had issues with calibration or repeatability. Installation was easy as well. You don’t have to worry about wires or a readout that sticks out past the fence handle. It’s also half the cost of the proscale.

The Wixey is a terrific product. I got mine on sale from Rockler for $60 bucks. Don’t know how often they go on sale there, but worth it even at retail.

I have the wixey. It’s really very nice. I had to make a steel bracket for the magnetic “puck” to attach to on my Ridged contractor saw, but the thing works very well. Sometimes I forget to turn it off and have to replace the battery. Sometimes one of my children slides the thing off the end of the rail and I have to recalibrate it. But it mostly works very well. No worries about precision. I can repeatably rip to within 5 thousandths. Much cheaper than Incra.
