So this was my first WW show and I had high expetations and a little pocket money searching out a great deal on that planner I have been mulling over. I was a little disappointed with the “big name” turn outs but all was well in the end.

The first to check out wa the delta and dewalt planner deals…..still too close to sticker price for me, so I took a trip down to the rigdid both.

Sitting out front was the 1300LS planner. I started talking to the rigdid rep. (who was actualy a very nice guy) and talking about the 1300 and the show price of $239…...good deal I told him but I was looking for the three blade R4330 model and pretty much stuck on that model…....until he fliped the sign over to $199…....okay now you have my attention. Still mulling it over and kicking around the $199 I saw they had the rigdid 6 1/8” jointer for $269 show price, so I thow in “sell me both for $400 and you have a deal”. Well he could not do that since this was a HD stock and he could not control the pricing, but he said I will throw in a 12” saw blade.

After much thought and a little pushing from the wife we walked out with the 1300LS planner, JP0610 6 1/8” jointer, 12” 100 tooth rigdid titanium saw blade, three rigdid shirts, four hats and two pair of rigdid saftey glasses all for the low, low price of $506 including tax.

After getting the tools home and setting them up I am extremly pleased with both and look forward to making saw dust and scrap wood with them!

Sounds like a deal to me! Are you going to write a review for them?

Gary, I will add that onto the list of reviews I already want to do : ), I still want to put one in on my bandsaw and craftsman professional orbital sander, oh yea on my craftsman professional palm router too (man I love that thing)!

Thanks motthunter!

Sounds like you got a great deal. You can’t go wrong with the Rigid line of tools.

Great deal. At least you can bargain at the show more than at the store.

Runngt, did your kids enjoy play Wii at my both? I looked at the Ridgid stuff, but I decided to go for the wood clamps from Woodline and a few router accessories. Though the Ridgid stuff was really well priced. Good luck and enjoy. I will be slightly jealous until I get mine though.

Thanks guys, yea my wife has beaten me into the negotiating for less everywhere we go. Heck when I bought my Craftsman Pro. 14” bandsaw we haggled and haggled until the guy rang it up as “on sale” and “out of stock” which ment just a hair below craftsman club pricing when there was not even a craftsman club sale going on! I have found that even department store pricing has lots of room to play if you get the right person helping you.

TopE5, working in the Atascocita area huh, hope your not making that Sugarland to Atas. drive everyday! What are you guys building over there? That area has BLOWN up over the last few years! I grew up across the pond Huffman. The show was April 4 – 6th at the Reliant arena, wish I would have know to send out a notice for you as it was pretty good show although had someone not told me I would have had no idea it was going on. There was not any radio or tv play about it that I heard.

codaman33, the kids loved it! It was nice to meet you as well. That wii helped keep the kids busy while I was working the ridgid tool deal! We will have to hook up sometime, especially since you have me a inside man at woodcraft : ) and I can help you rebuild that cabinet !
