Has anyone heard anything or know if there will be a Handworks in Amana, IA in 2019? I thought it was an every-other-year event.

Any help or info would be appreciated.

They usually start advertising in January/February I think.

I just looked at the calendar of events for the Amana Colonies, they don’t have anything listed that far out right now.

I tried that earlier, and I did some Google searching, too, but no luck. I hope they have it again. The one in 2017 was just incredible.

Will it be the same weekend as “Weekend with Wood” in Des Moines? I hope not, as I wish to attend both!

I doubt they would schedule it in conflict with another major woodworking event. Especially one in the same state. That would pull attendance from both events and neither promoter would want that.
At least that sounds like a logical assumption to me.

I’m leaning toward a big let down for next year. Exhibitors need to plan their stuff way more than just 3 months in advance. I’ve checked the sites of the major players from 2017 and have not seen a single mention of Amana, or Handworks.

The top hit on Google is this thread, which is how I got here.

I soooo hope that I’m wrong.

Scotts,
Sadly, I agree with you. I’m getting the same feeling here.
Heck, if they promoters wanted to relocate to the Chicago area, I’d be more than happy to volunteer my services. It was such an awesome event, I would hate to see it disappear after only a few events.

Have your say...
