When I saw something in a banner that sparked my interest I clicked on it. It did not open another browser or tab I closed the tab after I saw it was not what I was interested in thinking LJ would still be there. Wrong! and I lost the post I was reading I would suggest you set the links to open another browser of a new tab so we or I do not loose what I was reading.

i second that…

it really takes people away from the website. This happens on almost all external links.

example for martin:
use this command following any hyperlink,

target=”_blank”

-- Live by what you believe, not what they want you to believe.
