Slow that Mustang down.

So I’m moving from wax to wipe-on poly. I needed something that was tougher for these small boxes that will be handled frequently. I’ve only put on the first three coats, as was discussed in a link I found on this site, and it looks smooth and particle free. hallelujah. I made my own w-o-p with 50% mineral spirits and 50% urethane.

Before I continue to use this particular brand of poly, I was hoping I could get some suggestions of a good quality poly to use to make the wipe on. I don’t want to make a bunch of these things and end up with a product that could have looked better if I had chosen a better product. If you’ve mixed your own and tried several polys, please let me know if you found a favorite and why.

If this has been addressed in a post I missed please let me know, and forgive for beating a dead horse.
Thanks ya’ll

I use Min Wax Spar Urethane on a lot of my projects mixed 3 parts Spar to 1 part MS and have been very happy with the results. Some people on this site really bad mouth Min Wax products but dont say why. See my projects for examples of wiped on and sprayed Min Wax Spar to make up your mind. I like the gloss where others may prefer semi-gloss or satin. Experiment on scrap to see what looks best to you.
